I completed a Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Psychology at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. After working two years as a clinician within an Assertive Community Treatment program in North Carolina treating severely mentally ill adults I returned to school. I received a Master's (M.A.) and Doctoral (Psy.D) degree in Clinical Psychology at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I moved to New York to complete my pre-doctoral internship and residency at the Mental Health Association of Westchester County and I continued to work there for several years as a therapist and clinic coordinator. More recently, I was an Associate Director of Mental Health at Rikers Island Jail while seeing private clients, conducting forensic evaluations, and providing expert testimony in criminal courts. In 2016 I returned to my home state of Florida and I run a private clinic in Neptune Beach.

I have been working in the field of mental health care for more than 15 years. My clinical perspective and skill was formed while working with people of all ages in a variety of settings, such as a psychiatric hospital, a crisis stabilization program, assertive community treatment programs,  college counseling clinics, correctional facility, a family treatment clinic, and outpatient mental health clinics. I have received training in several treatment approaches, such as cognitive behavior therapy, functional family therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, crisis counseling and motivational interviewing.
